My parents' friend is my teacher for this activity I have recently taken up. He taught my mom for this activity and now he is teaching me. College Help ( Details Needed)?

You have little chance of being accepted into any of the selective UC schools for freshman admissions, such as UCSD, UCSB, and UCSC. For someone with such a low GPA, you are eliminating your best chance to get into these campuses, since they give top priority to ccc transfers and they won't even look at your HS GPA as an upper division transfer. San Diego has some of the best community colleges in the state, and they have the Transfer Admission Guarantee and Transfer Alliance Program with ccc to greatly increase your chance of attending UC schools you want. You could probably get into the CSUs if you fulfill all the subject requirements with a C or better, maintain your GPA, and score well on the SAT. You might have a chance with UCR, but even that is marginal for you. Community college transfers tend to have a higher GPA when they do graduate, and have a better chance of attending graduate programs. I personally attended Palomar college, then I graduated from a CSU summa c u m laude and easily got into the graduate program of my choice. In my opinion, the community college professors were better than most at 4 year schools. Many of them work full-time as professionals and teach part-time, so they have much more current skills and knowledge than university professors, on average. My college diplomas don't show any record that I started at a ccc to transfer - the diploma is the same for everyone (except mine shows graduation with honors.)

My advise to you is not look at what courses these allow you to take, but think about what you actually want to study. The course search on the UCAS website is brilliant for this. Then look at what universities provide the course you're interested in and then apply.

It might take some extra time, but then you'll be studying what you love. You can also check out the requirements to minor in Astronomy. Depending on how many credits you have left for Archaeology, you might not want to let your studies go to waste. Is it a good idea to pursue BS Nutrition to Masters of Environmental Science?

I really want an outdoor job or a job that includes field works such as Anthropology and Archaeology but unfortunately there's no course like that in the state school I got into. During my application I like planning my diet as well as cooking so I chose BS Nutrition, but after long I realized it doesn't really lead to the more adventurous and environmental path. Some people sell them and I'm sure there are some greedy scalpers out there. But some people find out they can't attend, so make a few bucks. People are willing to BUY them--so WHAT? Once a party is awarded the tickets, aren't they an asset he can sell? It's not illegal to buy them. The point is, now Antique's Roadshow is monitoring Ebay, and if they find someone sells their tickets, they are cancelling ticket numbers. So a perfectly innocent person or pair of persons may drive hundreds of miles to the Roadshow, only to find the tickets are no good because they were "purchased" online. THERE AREN'T THAT MANY BEING SOLD ONLINE!!!!! I think it's just a part of show business that all these antique experts putting on the show need to accept--don't you? Online private owner ticket sales go on for many shows, events, (like sports events.) I think it's NASTY of antiques roadshow. Ticket sales by private parties are just part of the show biz turf. How can I care for my Dining Room set?

I have a gorgeous set, big table with two wide leaves, and 6 chairs with padded seats. For the most part it's all in great shape, with a walnut top and chairs, and the table's apron and legs are an antiqued painted finish. The problem is that if I put anything at all on it, it seems to leave a mark - not a white ring - but a mark I can see when I stand back a little and let the light bounce off the table top. You are going to find craigslist far easier than trying to sell them at a store. You could sell them to an antique store but they will give you pennies on the dollar for what they are worth. They have to make a pretty good mark up on the resale to stay in business. You might be able to place them in a consignment store like Leftovers Home Furnishings or Then Again Consignment but you will have to pay a fee to the shop and it will be a lot more effort on your part than just taking a few photos and posting them on craigslist for free. There are also pawn shops like A-Z Pawnbrokers or Oxbridge House but they also give you almost nothing and most do not take big items. Lastly you could spend your weekend at a flea market or have a garage sale but your not likely going to find people willing to spend top dollar and once again it will be a lot more effort on your part than just taking a few photos and posting them on craigslist for free. That is unless you like spending your weekend haggling with people trying to get you stuff for almost nothing.

Am I being blackmailed?

A little while ago my parents decided that they were going to make me sign a contract pretty much saying that I have to do all the chores in the house without complaining and that i can't ask my real dad or anyone for money to help me pay for a 1500$ school trip and that they wouldn't pay for it either. So they're practically making me do all the housework without time to get a real job or anymoney to pay for this trip. I tried asking, since they included my dad's name in the document to have him see it and approve of it; which i was denied, they then said i couldn't leave the room until i signed it so i had no other choice. Their reason is that despite the fact i'm an honor student, club leader and involved with a bunch of school activities, i'm lazy and need to start acting like an adult. If I don't, and break any of the rules in the contract then once i turn 18 they'll kick me out of the house. Right now with chores they're literally taking it as far as making me clean my stepbrothers piss off the floor, i don't know what to do! I love my parents and all, but they forced me to sign a contract that i can't back out of.

So I'm seventeen and a junior in high school, getting ready to turn 18 in august. Ever since i was little, i thought that i wanted to be an archeologist, because mythology and history have always interested me, and archeology seemed like such an amazing adventure. But recently, my thoughts have been turning more towards being a radio hostess. Everyone tells me i have a good personality for it, and it's something that i can just see myself doing, you know? But my dilemma is what to do a show on. I was considering maybe doing it on mythology, or supernatural things. You know, a show on the myths behind vampires, werewolves, ghosts, demons, etc.I've always believed in things like that, and there aren't really any shows that talk about that sort of thing without getting really sarcastic. My second problem is how to make up my mind. Just thinking about not having either one of these jobs makes a pit in my stomach, and i always get mixed reactions when I ask people. So, what should it be, archeology or radio show? And if radio show, what should it be on?

Can you sue for mistaken identity?

Police Officers lurked around my house on a tuesday night, due to criminal activity in my area. I came out my house to find out why...they ran my license and told me they were just making sure, following proper protocol. The next day, I come home from work and they now have a search warrant and now have arrested me, linking me to the criminal activities in the area, along with similar cases that were going on for a few weeks. They advised me this has been an ongoing investigation, and they have set up surveillance around my house. Now, mind you they had a description of the suspect, in which matches mine a little, but they came to my house the night before, but no arrest. So now you come back the next day and i'm accused of the crimes. You found no evidence, linking me, just my description, which favors many...and you have caused me to miss maybe about 5 days of work, you have my name in the papers as if you really got your guy (humiliation) and your holding me on 1/2 million dollar bail. The reason I ask if able to sue, because obviously as the night progressed you have created a case against me with no proof, and you have also said dogs led you to my location. One important factor here, that i didn't mention...the time of the crimes, i was working! My supervisor is able to testify that and provide proof. Shouldn't you have a little more proof than a description before you make your arrest?

I have this strong passion for History, The Tudors and Ancient Egypt in particular and Science. I've chosen to do GCSE History and I don't mean to toot my own horn but I hope to get a 'B' minimum. I'm in my junior year of my undergrad at a TX university. I'll be transferring to another university in the state to continue towards my masters in Anthropology in about a year. What activity can my Yorkie participate in?

What a good minor with a history degree?

Really any of them except creative writing would be good depending on what you like best and what type of history you're studying. If you're specializing in European history from 1350-present, then studying something like law or government/ political science will be far more useful. If you're studying ancient history (Neolithic Revolution, River Valley civilizations, etc), then archaeology would probably be the most useful. Of course, go with your heart. If you really love creative writing, do that even though it won't help your history degree much.

Well, my mom went to this one antique store and found a bunch of albums that didn't have tags on them. She asked the guy in the store what they cost, and he said if they didn't have tags on them, then she would give them for her for a dollar. My mom found this old Johnny Cash album that says "Johnny Cash sings The songs that made him famous" It says to be from Sun Records. So my mom went to go pay for the record and when the guy saw it, he said he didn't know how it got in the pile, mad at himself for saying what they cost, he still let her have it. We got home and we tried to see what it cost, we couldn't find it on websites like Amazon or E-bay, so that made us think about the value even more. I found it at goodwill ans it looks rather old. The eyes are painted, the hair peice is glued on, and the feet are solid porcialen. Shoes and all. The face is very pale with orange rouge. Just Cause 2 ISO wont run! help!?

I got a full download of Just Cause 2 for PC and i did every update included in the setup and install. First there was a file missing so i re installed and i got the file. Now it turns on and does nothing. I watched the process activity in task maneger and the task begins, runs at minimum usage and then shuts off. why? i installed the ISO using Daemon tools lite, which worked great, but why wont it work? Am i missing something? Do i NEED to put it on a dvd-cd or can i just use a mount? my computer run windows 7, my requirements to run the game are above the recommended stats for the game. I have all 21 parts to the iso to reinstall the complete iso and i still have daemon tools lite to mount or burn to a dvd-cd. PLEASE HELP ME! I REALLY WANT THIS GAME!

I am looking for an old cloth doll I cannot find.?

I had a cloth doll as a little girl that was white and she had yellow crosses for eyes and a mouth that was sewn in a smile and she had yellow yarn hair that stuck out beneath a bonnett that was made of lacey material and the dress was white and had itty bitty red strawberries on it and the body had a music box in side that has a crank in the tummy you wind. The arms and legs were white and the arms were mitten shaped hands. I always called her Shelly tho we dont remember if I just called her that or if that was the dolls actual name. we think its just what I used to call her. I got her when I was 3 and I actaully had 2 dolls but they both lost the music boxes and are falling apart. We bought them at Dillards but when I was 15 we went back to get them fixed and dillards said they didnt sell them any more as of several years ago and didnt know wher they might be sold. We assumed they were collectables at that point but last year my mom saw a little girl walk in the other side of church with her mom and she was carrying that same doll and the doll looked new. she wanted to ask the mom but lost the mom and daughter and never saw them again. can anyone help me find them? do simple origami, I was in a class of 20 that at 5 where doing origami, work with the ones that need help, there are books on simple origami you could borrow from a library, why not try making sushi that doesn't need refrigeration, use a cooked meat that won't spoil easily or make them with no fillings, you could tell japanese stories or do dress up, just because you have boys and girls doesn't mean dress up is a no, there are traditional boy and girl japanese attire, maybe do some drumming if you can get access to japanese drums.

My mom always says how he tells stories, jokes, etc. but he never tells stories or jokes around with me. You can have Minor in classic Archeology or Ancient History in which they are okay for Med school. Major has the main classes that you need a degree from. Minor has extra classes that you need in case you want to change your career in the future.

What is wrong with my knee?

I have many of these symptoms, although mine is from Ballet. I go regularly to physio, from this they said the muscle on my knee cap isn't strong and it causes my knee cap to slide around. so whenever i go to dancing (3 times a week) she taught me how to tape my knees which helps to reduce the swelling and pain. You may have done something minor and it hasn't healed properly, don't worry yourself the doctors will find out and it will get better. Sports are the main causes of injuries, keep your hopes up and give physio another chance, it may help.

Lose weight quickly without much exercise?

I have been eating very healthy & going to spin classes 3 times a week, along with walking a lot. I've done this for about two months and lost about 15 lbs. My goal is to lose 15-20 lbs before school starts up again. The issue is I'm going off to a performing arts camp for a month and won't have any time for exercise. How can I gain 10lbs overnight?

I have been on a strict diet for about 3 months because I was almost 50lbs overweight and it was affecting my health. Basically weight watchers/calorie counting/increased activity. I lost about 8lbs the first week, and a steady 2 a week since. However, every once in a while I let myself eat something I really want, in the past 3 months I've had 2 days I let myself eat what I wanted. First day I had 3 slices of pizza for my birthday and half a personal bag of chips later that night. Next day I woke up and weighed myself, I had gained 8.lbs. Over pizza and some chips. That was a month ago. Yesterday I had one serving of Kraft mac and cheese I made with tuna. I woke up today +9.1lbs from yesterday. What is the best thing to do with a 1940's (sable?) fur coat I have in my closet? Thx!!?

Thank you for reading this. About 8 yrs ago I went to an estate auction and bought a black fur coat from the 1940's possible 30's. It's short black hair with a little bit of a dark golden brown(but mostly black) and is extremely silky to the touch. I think it might be sable. The label says Nelson's San Carlos and San Francisco-the lining of the coat is gorgeous, a silver with black stripe detail around. I wish I knew what i had before but I was 20 and just left it in a closet at my parents house. There are parts where the fur is coming out. What should I do- I was thinking I'll have it cleaned and see what it is. But should I spend the money to have it repaired? Where is the best place to sell it at? I know e-bay but maybe an antique store that would be interested around the bay area? I'm hoping that someone who knows there furs can be helpful. Thank you so much! Take care- Oce

Need help. Am I gonna gain weight from bread?

So yesterday It wa my treat day. I do that once a week, all the other days I eat good. But I had a slice of bread in the morning, a sandwich, and a slice of pizza. I didn't go over my calories, only a little because I am allowed to because it's treat day. But will that bread make me gain weight? I DO NOT do this everyday. And I'm a 13 year old girl, and my dad says I have a fast metabolism. An my dad says the bread will do nothing to me because of my age a activity level. I workout everyday 3 times a day. But this week it's been on and off, so like one say I did it 3 times and one day I did 2 because I am sick.

I do make out a sun but I can't see the stone clearly. Usually symbolic items have an explanation card attached telling the purchaser what the symbol and stone are supposed to mean. If yours doesn't have one then I'd assume it's just a generic souvenir.

Can You Study 2 Majors At The Same Time?

After I graduate from high school I wanted to do Archaeology but I've been doing quite a bit of research and it doesn't pay very well and there aren't many jobs but it has always been my dream to do it and get a PhD in that career. I also want to do something in financing because I know I can do a lot with any type of financing degree. Is it possible to do both those majors at the same time? Even though I know it would be difficult I am willing to do it but is it realistic?

Should I major in anthropology if I want to become an archaeologist?

That is one path to take. You can major in anything that relates to Archaeology like history, geology, and geography.

Should the violin and original case be kept together?

I have a 100 year old violin and the case is absolutely smashed and falling apart. I got a newer hard case for the violin, so should I just throw the old one away? Is there any value in the destroyed antique case? Should it be kept with the violin?

I Need Some Radio Show Advice?

So I'm seventeen and a junior in high school, getting ready to turn 18 in august. Ever since i was little, i thought that i wanted to be an archeologist, because mythology and history have always interested me, and archeology seemed like such an amazing adventure. But recently, my thoughts have been turning more towards being a radio hostess. Everyone tells me i have a good personality for it, and it's something that i can just see myself doing, you know? But my dilemma is what to do a show on. I was considering maybe doing it on mythology, or supernatural things. You know, a show on the myths behind vampires, werewolves, ghosts, demons, etc.I've always believed in things like that, and there aren't really any shows that talk about that sort of thing without getting really sarcastic. My second problem is how to make up my mind. Just thinking about not having either one of these jobs makes a pit in my stomach, and i always get mixed reactions when I ask people. So, what should it be, archeology or radio show? And if radio show, what should it be on?

How can people still be religious (Christian, Jewish, Muslim, etc) after all of the scientific advancement?

After all of the scientific advancement in biology, astronomy, archaeology, etc I don't why people especially in America are so religious. Personally i feel debating things like religion and politics are pointless because they don't changes peoples ideas; But i still find it fun to do with close friends and family. When ever talk with with a religious peer/ family i find myself to be on the winning side and even have them starting to agree with me until they final stop and don't want to talk about it anymore. The conclusion I've drawn is that a lot of people deep down inside don't believe these religious doctrines because of their common sense; but also don't want to admit that what they thought to be real for such a long time was a lie. I recently had Bronchitis , and took Antibiotics Called Apo- Clarythim .. Im done them and the bronchitis is almost fully gone. I just graduated from high school and I'm sick of living in my town with nothing to do. I love punk rock music and punk ideology. I'm very interested in art, film, and music. I love vintage, antique, comic book, and record stores. I would love to live somewhere that holds artsy kind of festivals (art/film, etc) I was thinking New York but its too big of a city. I live near Pittsburgh and it's fun if you know where to look but it's not exciting enough. I want to live in a medium sized city with a big art scene and full of interesting people. No. It's not fair. You need to spread your wings and mature as your own person and for them to want to hold you back is really selfish of them. You should go to a school you love. If it happens to be close by then fine. But going to a close school solely for that reason is not fair to you.

The past few weeks I noticed my live-in boyfriend of 8 years is suddenly very interested in his appearance, exercising everyday, and eating Special K for breakfast. He loves for me to go stay at my parents house, and always makes the excuse that he can't come with me. My mother thinks he wants his cake & eat it too. He needs me for certain things, like staying in the apartment, because it is in my name. His credit is bad, so the apartment is in my name, and all the bills too, like the electricity. Do you think he stays with me because of this? There is absolutely no passion in our relationship anymore. He doesn't kiss me, or snuggle with me anymore. He sleeps out in the living room on the futon every night, while I stay in the bedroom, reading books. We used to be hot for each other, but he is a cold fish now. I feel very depressed about it all.
