Would it be a dumb thing to do?

I go to Cyber School. I used to go to public school (and I'm not going back), but I do really miss just being around people sometimes I get really lonely. I found out that since I still live in the district I could go to the dances and school activities. They have to let me. I think it would be cool to go to the dances by myself of course just to see what's up. I mean this is my last year (12th) coming up and I've never been to a dance of any kind before. Or do you think I would just get in the way? I mean I'm used to feeling like a third wheel, I don't mind that. I just thought I could go say hi to some of my old friends and chat. Should I? I really really want to.
