What are some activities I can do with kids 8 and under that relate to Japan?

do simple origami, I was in a class of 20 that at 5 where doing origami, work with the ones that need help, there are books on simple origami you could borrow from a library, why not try making sushi that doesn't need refrigeration, use a cooked meat that won't spoil easily or make them with no fillings, you could tell japanese stories or do dress up, just because you have boys and girls doesn't mean dress up is a no, there are traditional boy and girl japanese attire, maybe do some drumming if you can get access to japanese drums.
