What are the main subcategories in archaeology?

Only in the USA is archaeology regarded as a 'sub category of anthropology'. in the UK where archaeology was first developed as a discipline we don't agree. There are two main divisions which are reflected in the degrees offered: archaeolgy and archaeological science(s).
